Is there any video evidence of protesters throwing stuff at the Ferguson police?

Any? This police chief keeps saying that this is the case and that he "knows it looks bad" but he's wants "peace" in the community. I have yet to see any evidence that this is true. If he is making this allegation, then he needs to provide proof to the public. Personally, I think this is CYA.

I'm simply pointing out that if the police are going to hide behind such accusations for their overreach, and the accusations are false or unfounded, then that is an issue.

it was well after the gas and bombs started. The protesters retreated into a neighborhood, and gas bombs were going off in people's front yards and driveways. At one point during all of this, I saw a man throw something toward where the police were. I have no idea what it was.

This is the video I was watching. When things start to go down, there is nothing being thrown that I could see. The chaos starts when the police say "turn off your cameras" and issue their nth "final warning". Then the sound cannons start, then bullets and bombs start to fly and everyone runs. The reporter goes into a front yard, and while in that area you can see a man throw something at around the 11:17 mark:

But this was in retaliation to the police assault. It was not a cause of it.

either witnessed or endured abuse. It seems as if both were not only improperly detained with excessive force, and AJ had tear gas lobbed at them. I think they finally screwed with the wrong people.

The questions were sometimes hard to hear, but those reporters made him sweat. He kept referring to "talks" going on. I am hoping to find a better video of it too.

And they hid their badges so they couldn't be ID'd. Pretty solid evidence their intent from beginning was to escalate the situation, bust some heads, and violate civil rights.

but there seems to be little evidence it occured, and appears not to be last night.

They have the Wa Po reporter Lowery talking about being detained with no paper trail or explanation, and how he had to ask police to stop waving his gun at him. How colleagues far away from the situation are chiding those on the scene for making themselves the center of the story. Kind of short sighted of those reporters, eh?

according to all witnesses including the press and protesters, the gas and rubber bullets were provoked only by people refusing to clear the area.

only the boilerplate synopsis- maybe AP reports parroting the police dept- - has claims of molotav cocktail(s), and even then, it's not clear what day they are talking about. The chief tried to float the story that protestors were throwing things first- and reporters corrected him on that.

it after one of the journalists on the ground insisted the crowd was calm and did NOTHING to incite the volley of tear gas and rubber bullets that suddenly happened last night. He said that much later he heard a single bottle break.
Before that, she had kept saying "molotov cocktails"- plural- were thrown. She had two guests that said they believed that this was incorrect, so then she STFU about it.

Much like the situation in Gaza. Homemade rockets did absolutely nothing but were a challenge to authority... which "necessitated" an overwhelming military response. Can't have the subjucated peopled feeling empowered, even if that empowerment is trivial. Got to keep the jack-boots firmly stomped on their necks.
