I saw Robin Williams perform in a small San Fran club several years ago....

I was visiting the City about 10 years ago ---a city I lived in for a decade---and decided to hit a comedy club on the wharf. It's was a Tuesday night--a pretty slow tourist night--- and the club probably had 10 to 15 patrons. The comedian on stage--I forget his name, stopped his show midway and announced that he was giving up the stage for a good friend who needed some practice.

Next thing you know, Robin Williams hops on stage and proceeds to do a 2 hour show. There were a couple of late comers to the show and I'll never forget their reaction when they walked in and saw Williams up on the stage.

He was at his very best and it will be a performance I will never forget. When he jumped off the stage at the end I had the club food menu and a pen---I asked for his signature ---he signed it and was on his way. I have it proudly framed in my den.

Rest in Peace Robin---you're a legend.

I saw him back in the 80's.
Bobby McFerrin opened.

It was truly one of the best shows I've ever seen.
