Gaza City: A thin river of blood mixed with water ran down Shamali Street in Gazas al-Shati Camp as ambulance sirens wailed above the cries of shocked families who had minutes earlier raced from their houses to find at least eight children torn to pieces by rocket fire.
Two adults were also killed and at least 40 others wounded, some critically, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Monday.
Standing on the footpath, his white singlet stained with blood, Abu Yousef described the scene of carnage outside his home on the first afternoon of Eid, which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
So many kids were playing on the street when I heard a boom I came running from my house to find some without arms, with their heads separated from their bodies.
Children wander the street in shock and across the road three shoes lie in a thick pool of blood as people stare on wordlessly, mentally counting the lives lost and agonising over who might be saved today.

I'm ashamed of the country in which I live and were I 30 years younger, I'd being making plans to 'leave it' as I know longer 'love it' so much anymore.
Karma will catch up with both israel and its enablers in due time.

Yesterday morning, I did hear one commentator on CNN say that world opinion seems to be becoming upset with the carnage, but she never mentioned any protests or showed any pictures like this:
Tens of thousands marched in central London in solidarity with Palestine on 26 July. photo by Justin Tallis/Getty Images
Quotes from the rally:
Sarah Colborne (Palestine Solidarity Campaign): Its shameful, its sickening and its revolting that Britain sells components to Israel for its weapons. Its shameful that weapons that Israel has field tested on the Palestinians are bought by Britain. The arms trade with Israel has to end now.
Glyn Secker (Jews for Justice for Palestinians): As a voice for our Jewish organisation, I categorically disassociate ourselves from the Israeli government and the Israeli army. We are from a different Jewish tradition one that stands for human rights, mercy and compassion.
Brian Eno: BDS will make the difference. Its the only thing that will frighten them.
Dave Randall: The last time Faithless was on a world tour, we heeded the cultural boycott of Israel. Im very pleased to see that my colleague and fellow singer, Sinead OConnor, has also this week said she will boycott Israel. My message to my fellow artists is to join the cultural boycott of Israel. Do not entertain apartheid Israel.
Walter Wolfgang: I stand here to protest against Israels barbarism, and I do so as a Jew. This is naked aggression by the Israeli government, and it must be treated as such. We need economic measures. We need to end the siege of Gaza. We need a free Palestine.

(8,694 posts)it's middle of night now, but I've been following tweets from Gaza. Tonight has been the most intense and constant shelling, from F16's, from drones, from ships at sea. Absolutely terrifying, the people are losing their minds. I fear the death toll they discover in the morning will be horrendous.

(8,554 posts)Gazans are finding it hard to breath during the bombing blitz they've been under all night. I know that pressure from missile strikes can suck the breath out of a person, but so many different reports of something in the air makes me wonder if it's something worse.

(8,554 posts)Purveyor, I feel much as you, when you say how ashamed you are of this country we live in. I've lived thru all of the atrocities since the world pie was sliced and divvied up by the victors after WWII and I am almost out of words now, to think that such horror can still be occurring, that the terrorizing of Occupied Palestine goes on, after all of these years. There should never be any choosing of "sides" when children are murdered in the street like that, but the incredibly deafening silence continues.
