Michigan has been getting storm hammered, today, from the tip of the mitt to the cuff

Most of the worst storms have skirted the Flint area, but we had some strong winds that knocked out a whole lot of power. I think my area was spared because of all of the tree branch trimming and replaced equipment that happened after the December week long ice storm outage but I'm still sitting here with flashlights at hand.

It's been a long time since I've seen such a long stretch of severe storms stretch across the length of this state. Hope the other Michigan DUers are all ok.

I can hear the thunder getting closer and closer, and it's certainly getting dark in a hurry.

or something. They split right around us & we haven't had a drop of rain all day. Weird. Kalamazoo had 2" hail, we got bupkis.

We had very little lightning, no hail, a few heavy downpours, but they didn't last and now it's just a gentle rain. North and south of here, especially in the Thumb, things were pretty nasty.

We had a wind blow through, for about 5 minutes, and it knocked a big dead branch out of my maple tree, and most conveniently leaned it up against the trunk. Saves me having to drag out the limb saw. It does look like the bad weather has ended for most of us. All in all, we've been very lucky, this summer.

Our ground is so dry. I have to keep watering my tomatoes. Today 3 separate storms went past us to the north and slammed Fort Wayne.

I have never felt such a drastic change in the air temps, and I was outside for only about 20 minutes. That's when the big wind kicked up. I'm loving these temps, but my tomato plants would like a little more heat. Ok, they would love a LOT more heat.
