it's Raining a lot in Southern California right now

it's good because we do need the rain but the timing sucks .

i don't know when was the last time we got this much rain around this time of the year. i know there were light showers at times. but nothing like i'm seeing now which is what we should have gotten during the winter.

Lightning immediately followed by a thunderclap so loud, it set off car alarms.

i have some family members who go and i think with the huge crowds there are lines that go outside. and people stay overnight for things also.

and yes, I did go out and stand in it for a while. Nothing cools you off out here like getting wet.

I think the storms cells are out by the beach. Venice had lightning strikes I heard.

It's pretty sunny here in Orange County. Earlier it was a little cloudy, but sun is peeking through now. I hope it rains, though.

at the beach -- and struck by lightning! So much for the stats about how rare it is to be struck by lightning after 14 people got zotted. Hope they are all okay!

On another note, it looks like that pilot did a great job of crash landing that plane! It didn't go into a nosedive or head over tail as they landed. What a miracle.

RE: Venice Beach -- I guess Florida also has an Orange County, and I live in Orange County, CA, so when I Google things sometimes, I get places in Florida and have to check and make sure I put my state in the search. I didn't know there was also a Venice Beach in Florida.
