Mississippi Tea Party Candidate Refuses To Concede In Furious Post-Election Speech

A furious Chris McDaniel refused to concede the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate to incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran on Tuesday night, casting a pall of illegitimacy on Cochran's win in a heated runoff battle.

In an approximately nine-minute long speech after multiple news outlets had handed victory to Cochran, McDaniel accused his intra-party opponents of "abandoning the conservative movement" to win — without ever mentioning Cochran by name.

"There’s something strange about a Republican primary that’s decided by liberal Democrats," McDaniel said, after he was introduced by a supporter as "the Republican nominee" for Senate.

"It's our job to make sure the sanctity of the vote is upheld."

It's weird that a single politician can influence that.

when you consider that they have basically destroyed the conservative platform that was the GOP until 2008 when they melted down over an African American being elected president. They should be branded as an "oligarchic movement" because that is what they really are. But of course the media would never go for that.

is rediculous. The law was unenforceable since no one is going to declare who they will vote for in the general election. So who they vote for in the primaries is moot. How was McDaniel going to prove that Democrats voted in the republican primary? Is he really going to say there were black people voting and that proves that Democrats voted? I would dare him to say something so blatantly stupid.

"Confederate-ese" as though it was in the 1860's. Please Mr. McDaniels, stop trying to sell that "we'll never surrender" crap. It's harming the good people of Mississippi.
