Florida Woman Dumps Mom Out Of Wheelchair 'For 52 Years Of Shit'

The Huffington Post | By Hilary Hanson

A Florida woman was arrested after police say she dumped her 75-year-old mom from her wheelchair.

Patricia Tavernier, of Tavares, was celebrating her 52nd birthday Friday night when, after emerging from a restaurant with family members, she allegedly pushed her mother's wheelchair off of the curb, which resulted in her mother falling out of the chair "head first into the cement," according to an arrest report obtained by The Smoking Gun.

Police arrived at the scene around 11 p.m. and say they found the mother lying in the road in the fetal position. Tavernier allegedly told cops that the mother fell, but a restaurant employee said Tavernier pushed the woman, according to the Daily Commercial.

Tavernier's sister corroborated the employee's story, and added that Tavernier said, "For 52 years of shit," as she shoved the wheelchair off the curb.

somehow I suspect more than a few of us can relate to the emotions being expressed. Family dynamics can be brutal.

can be an increased temper. The combination of neediness and anger can be very hard to deal with. My sister, who is living with our mother, has to have the patience of Job.

15. My MIL has been driving my wife to the edge (and sometimes beyond) for nearly 50 years.

And my MIL who is now 89 is still sharp as tack. They typically scream at each other and then remain pissed at each other for several days when I go down with my wife to see her folks. My FIL and I just go out and drink a few beers when they get going. No physical violence, though.

it is not the waltons anymore

i care pretty much for my 94 year old mother-and as an only child--it upon me.

she is in remarkable shape but that being said--it falls upon me. I do not have a sister to push mom off on for a vacation.

It is something i gladly accept, i lover her dearly, and i am really not complaining--just stating a fact.

My best buddy has it worse. She has an adult autistic daughter. The daughter has sort of a job at walmart. She will never be much more independent than she is now. The daughter will most likely outlive my friend. My friends support system is ----well, sad to say.... is me.

my mother is not mean or senile, and she pretty much cares for herself.
she still bakes cookies and such--poorly but she still bakes...

but there is not respite
it is an endurance coarse

don't know if this is the case above.
but damn sometimes it is just hard
