here's how todd opened the show:
'the Obama white house heralded the six million enrollment number, but will Obamacare STILL be a losing issue for democrats this election year'

(94,911 posts)I'm realistic enough to recognize that, as successful as ACA will eventually become, it is TODAY a political liability because a majority of the population don't like it as constituted, Republicans are rallying their base on the issue, and Democrats are being defensive about it.
But if you only want to hear positions you agree with...
spanone
(135,919 posts)if you wish to frame it as a losing issue, fine with me.

(94,911 posts)...you're the person who complained about someone else (Gregory/Todd) who's opinion differed from you.

(4,769 posts)that a majority of the population does not like it as constituted? Most of the folks I know do not have a clue as to what ACA is or what it does. All they know is that it is some kind of government health thingy that is big and bad and Obama did it.

(55,981 posts)The ACA is a good program. What message does it send to voters if the Democrats wont support it? Democrats need to show integrity instead of pandering to an audience that they dont trust.

(22,000 posts)One of the rare times I agree with you. I think they'll run like hell from the issue this year and it will bite them in the ass.

(94,911 posts)I've spoken privately to 13 of our Senate candidates and a good handful of our House candidates. And while they all support ACA, none are prepared to aggressively campaign on it as a positive item.

(32,723 posts)I suppose next you will tell me they don't want to be seen with Obama because he's "unpopular".

(32,723 posts)Some of these margins are .01% and the Republicans claim they OWN it.
Also: in the 2010 midterm Obama's base didn't even know there WAS an election and SAW the consequences of their inaction.
Young people learned mid-term elections MATTER.

I didn't see where the OP wanted Chuck Todd shut down so he couldn't state his position. The OP was giving his/her opinion of Chuck Todd's position.

(12,418 posts)It is the packaging of any issue that prevails in public opinion. We all know the Republicans are far more adept at "packaging" a message. With the help of the MSM their job is even easier. It certainly would help if the media would remove the package to examine the product.
I would suggest to the people in the DNC take a good look at the new Cosmos series and try to imagine a palatable way to package the ACA.
In most peoples minds it is a good thing and will work when implemented effectively, but there I go making facts up for something I believe in.

(22,271 posts)why does anyone watch these shows? There's no information, it's biased, the guests and hosts are almost always dumber than a box of rocks. I just don't understand why people waste their time.

Its hard for me to even look at the mo'fo because he reminds me of a certain person who I used to have to carry at work. Like my mother used to say, buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth and never be in want for money again.

(4,170 posts)many Democrats refuse to defend the law properly and they'll lose the message war that way ... in some ways I see the successes we hear as come INSPITE of the Dems rather than because of them.

You have become a journalistic masterbation joke, which you just seem unable to get. When you get tired of rubbing against John McCain and take a step back maybe you will finally get it.
