....So, lets see Mitt, that must also mean that you could have foreseen that the Iraqi search for ' WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION' would have been found under YOUR watch since you could see such futures, would you agree Mitt?..........Now you claim your clairvoyance 'could have stopped Russia from invading Crimea ' if YOU had been elected?
Hold on,............
OK, now proceed!
Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Sunday suggested that he had a power to see the future, and could have stopped Russia from invading Crimea if he had been elected in 2012.
The presidents naïveté with regards to Russia, and his faulty judgement about Russias intentions and objectives has led to a number of foreign policy challenges that we face, Romney opined to CBS host Bob Schieffer on Sundays edition of Face the Nation. And unfortunately not having anticipated Russias intentions, the president wasnt able to shape the kinds of events that may have been able to prevent the kinds of circumstances that youre seeing in the Ukraine, as well as the things that youre seeing in Syria.
I think effective leaders typically are able to see the future to a certain degree, and are able to take actions to shape it in some way, he added. And thats, of course, what this president has failed to do. And as secretary of state, Hillary Clinton as well. Theres always the potential that we could have kept them from invading a country and annexing it into their own.

HRC hasn't been Secretary of State since February 1, 2013. She has been out of office for 14 months. Mitt couldn't possibly know what she knows and no matter, because she has no power to influence events at this time as she holds no public office. It's just another attempt to bring disrepute to a possible Democratic party nominee.
Repubs never miss a chance, do they.........

(37,291 posts)Were you just so awesome that you needed to handicap yourself with a bunch of people who'd been completely wrong, but didn't let that interfere with their agenda?
People who want us to actively get militarily involved in overthrowing the governments in Syria and Iran, and may have had some hand in egging on the coup in Ukraine the precipitated the current situation?
It's true that effective leaders need to be able to gauge situations and anticipate potential problems so that they don't get caught flatfooted somewhere down the line. But given how you were so convinced you were going to win the election that you didn't even have a draft of a concession speech, and surrounded yourself with people who had dismissed Bin Laden as 'some guy in a tent' and further failed to make any "Plan B"s in case their string of rosy assumptions for a quick & easy occupation of Iraq broke down anywhere along the way (a situation one could have anticipated by, oh, I dunno, any reading of military history), etc....
Given all that, what makes you think that you would qualify as an effective leader?
