http://enr.votepinellas.com/FL/Pinellas/50891/125069/en/summary.htmlAnd this is a bit hard to believe but the Democrat who ran against Bill Young in 2012 received more than 50,000 more votes than Alex Sink.

(71,265 posts)It was a competitive race and FL usually has higher turnout due to the fact it is a swing state.

(14,449 posts)Why shouldn't they? This is another easily won election that we lost because of lack of interest. We are still needing 18 seats to take back the House which is tough especially when we lose a seat that was supposed to be ours. They focused on President Obama and Health care. You would have thought that Democrats would have shown up in droves to insure that we won this for the President and ACA. Now the wacky Republicans believe that America wants to get rid of Obamacare .yes it is only one local house seat but it was a test for ACA. We screwed up this one!

(20,453 posts)I'm talking neighborhoods were hit hard. Any chance of a re-count since it's around 2%?

(17,064 posts)And I don't know about elsewhere, but in FL Dems don't turn out to vote except in Presidential years.

(20,453 posts)Actually, and I say this from Dem committee experience in my state, but as one who also lived in FL, the committee work is poorly organized.
Oops
did I say that out loud?

(13,190 posts)On the national democrats.I mean Debbie Wassermann-Shultz is the DNC chair person who lives in Florida and can't even get the shit straight there with the democrats

(17,064 posts)They have their spots at the corporate feed trough alongside their republican friends. Progressives are a threat to that order and must be stopped. That is the prime motivation of the State Party. If another TW Dem wins a seat, thats just icing on the cake.

(14,449 posts)Oh yes. The Republicans are at fault for showing up. Eyes rolled for sure. This is why we continually lose because we make excuses for the Democrats who don't show up to vote. Well keep this up and we won't have anything.
