Here's a beautiful example, Mychal Massie from WND.
WND: 'You Can Make A Black Woman The First Lady, But That Doesn't Mean She Will Have Any Class'
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 3/4/2014 11:45 am
WorldNetDailys Mychal Massie writes today that the new nutrition facts label championed by Michelle Obama is proof that shes a bigoted, racialist first lady who is usurping authority and inflicting additional financial injury upon an already suffering people. Massie claims the cost of the program will add more unnecessary financial burden to families; in fact, the New York Times reports that in total, the health benefits could eventually be as much as $30 billion. Citing an article from the tabloid the National Enquirer about the first ladys disgusting and privileged position, Massie writes that Michelle Obama should stick to doing jumping-jacks and writhing around on the floor of Ellen DeGeneres set, much to the delight of DeGeneres.

(529 posts)I hate thinking that about other women, but damn, how stupid can they get? I've seen right wing females use their rights to say that women shouldn't have rights. And I will never understand the log cabin republicans. Ever.

(529 posts)attention. They like being the only one of their kind in a crowd. Like the women who say they can't be friends with other women. Some kind of "queen bee" syndrome, I guess.

(73,631 posts)There's an understanding, that to succeed as a Black person in this country, you need to be twice as good in order to even be considered half as good. That's in anything, on the playing field and even in the board room. A Black man has to go all out to strive to be the best, or else he won't get any respect on his own merits at all.
That's just how the game is played.
But what happens when you're a Black Conservative, trying to make it in the lilly white world of the Republican party? Well, if you're Allen West, Ken Blackwell, Herman Cain, Alan Keyes, Larry Elder, Ben Carson, Ward Connerly, Star Parker, or another damned fool, like this Mychal Massie person, you either become the biggest sell-out to the worst of Republican ideology, freaking insane, or both.
And there's no one crazier than a Black Conservative, my friends. No... One. It's so easy to understand why. They have to convince all those crazy as bat guano White conservatives that he or she is legit in their crazy as bat guano world. That's their audience, not the Black community. Black people are embarrassed by these crazy fools. They show up at the family turn-up function or whatever and make complete asses of themselves while everyone else is trying to have a good time.
But you know what I found out what's funny? Turns out that the problem of untreated mental illness affects roughly 5% of the Black community. But it just so happens that it's pretty much the same percentage of Black folks who call themselves "conservative." I'm very much convinced that this is not a co-inky-dink.
Notice that the guy was proud to point out that he wasn't on any medication. Wink-wink! Obviously, if he were, I guarantee that he wouldn't be this crazy person that we see today. But then again, he couldn't make it as a Black Conservative at all, while harboring any disadvantage of sanity.
So keep that in mind when you see these Black Conservatives
They play by a different set of rules.

(16,399 posts)I've known a black conservative on another non-political message board. He pretty much spends his day trying to one up every right-winger he can on the anti-Obama rhetoric to show he's "one of the good ones" I guess.
By the way, had my first Star Parker encounter....was treated to one of her screeds in an op-ed piece the other day. Awful ranting about kids out of wedlock and pot use and it all being the fault of one man....Bill Clinton.

(11,589 posts)I will never understand why people would align themselves with a political ideology that -- IMO -- wants to supress them.
This might very well be the most plausible explanation I have seen. Sadly plausible.

Ironically, I'm listening to one right now who calls himself "David"' (now a regular caller) who just called up Sharpton whining.

(37,428 posts)Movement conservatism is a stupid philosophy, and proponents of it sound stupid. Dedicated followers are going to sound stupid more frequently, and the few among them who manage to get paid well for doing so sound the stupidest of all. These distinctions don't make it easy to pick out which ones actually *are* stupid.

(32,084 posts)As ConWebWatch recently explained, Massie's M.O. is to say things a white man would be called racist for. IOW, to validate the bigoted or should i say "politically incorrect" positions of angry white males. the link explains about Massie complaining about the Knockout Game being excluded from Black History Month. that's how much scum he is.

(12,287 posts)Actually I think they choose the Republican party because the party desperately needs some black representation, so it's an easy way to make a living if you are already stupid, just say you're conservative and you'll be made a hero just for being a minority in the Republican party. They highlight their minorities because there aren't that many, so they make a show of them.
But this article is just plain cruel and little.

"Why are so many conservatives so stupid?"
Because you have to be either stupid or psychopathic to espouse most of conservative doctrine.
I don't think black conservatives are dumber than any other kind of conservative; it's just that they're hired largely to push the moronic RW Weltanschauung in the realms of race and class. I guess the theory is that if a black person is dissing minorities, that proves it's all true somehow.

(2,900 posts)white conservatives who make those stupid comments are racist against black people. Being a black Republican these days (notice I said Republican and not conservative) is being against one's own self interest. I am reminded of Dave Chapelle's blind from birth KKK member.

(82,383 posts)a black conservative winds up in the same party with whites who are racist against blacks, so there is an extra consideration there. Politics makes strange bedfellows. But that's a very uncomfortable alliance, I would think.

The only safe place to get recognition is from conservatives who would be called racists if they criticized them.
They are starving for attention without competition.

(46,379 posts)It's blacks (and other ethnic groups) who are acting against their own interests, like is stated above.
Just look at the "Cuban exile" groups.
They are overwhelmingly conservative, yet would make a lot of money giving up their shared fantasy about returning to Cuba once Fidel dies.

(5,477 posts)The vast majority of non-Black Republicans are also voting against their own interest. They've been convinced that they should support laws that benefit the wealthy because...well...some day they just know they're going to make it big and benefit from the skewed laws. But while TPTB like to use race as a wedge, it's really truly about CLASS...making poor people more dependent on their employers, and make rich people safe to exercise questionable ethics without facing any scrutiny.
