Boehner Caught in Reasonableness Scandal
WASHINGTON - Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) was embroiled today in a reasonableness scandal that could cost him his career, congressional insiders said. "Speaker Boehner has presented a debt ceiling deal that is entirely rational and sensible," said Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn). "I know those are harsh words to use, but if the shoe fits." Said Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas): "The Speaker's deal would keep the government running, free of disruptions, without holding the American people hostage and plunging the world economy into chaos. That goes against everything we Republicans stand for."

(17,241 posts)1. And here I thought Borowitz was satire.
The wingnuts are already calling for Boehner's head. There was a thread about it earlier somewhere.
