A Florida woman testified Saturday that her fiancée, who is on trial for murder, used a racially charged word to complain about loud music before gunning down a black teen sitting in an SUV.
Michael Dunn fatally shot 17-year-old Jordan Davis in November 2012 during a dispute at a Jacksonville gas station, but the 47-year-old man claims the shooting was in self-defense.
Dunn was charged with first-degree murder, and he was also charged with the attempted murders of three other people in the SUV with Davis the day after Thanksgiving.
Rhonda Rouer testified that she and Dunn were on their way to a hotel after drinking rum and cokes at Dunns sons wedding when they pulled into a convenience store parking lot, where they heard loud music coming from a Dodge Durango.

This may sound a bit radical, but if more people would arm themselves and kill these f*cking idiots <emphasis added> when theyre threatening you, eventually they may take the hint and change their behavior.
Obviously he felt he had a right to kill these kids because he wanted to send a message to other black people to "change their behavior."
They were not threatening him, but I bet they cursed at him and told him to mind his own business, and that absolutely infuriated him. He is like that old retired cop jerk in Florida who said, "Throw popcorn in my face!" <emphasis added>after gunning down another theater patron he was arguing with over texting.
Remember how appalled people were a couple of decades ago to hear that gang bangers would shoot each other over being "dissed"? (I remember reading about one teen who shot another for stepping on his shadow!)
But that's exactly what is going on here. This jerk and the retired cop in the movie theater felt dissed, and in their macho posturing idiocy, they were enraged. The problem with that sort of rage, though, is that if one has a gun handy, it can lead all too easily to blowing the other guy away.

(298,431 posts)I thought we needed to go home and get Charlie [the dog] settled, Rouer told police after their arrest. It was a horrible trip home.
Oh they had a horrible trip home after he shot and killed a Black Teenager.. this is so sickening and heartbreaking!

(10,953 posts)they go back to the hotel and order pizza. Then, the next day after hearing that the boy died, did they go to the police? Heck no, they want to go home to take care of the dog. Talk about callous disregard for life (by both of them). What he did was bad enough but his girlfriend was no prize either. There is no evidence that made any effort to get him to talk to the police right away. The actions of this guy does not display fear for his life because he did not seem to have any problem carrying on with the rest of his evening.
I would be really shocked if this guy isn't convicted.

(19,926 posts)Unbelievable. These guys are detached from the reality of what they did, like they think it is normal and accepted behavior so everything should just carry on.

(22,336 posts)it's hard to tell. I'm still sick over Zimmerman, and then there's also this case in Texas where the guy was found with his face mutilated and the police said it was self inflicted or something.
