Christine Pelosi on Romney’s Planned Parenthood attack: ‘If you don’t respect us, don’t expect us’

http://current.com/shows/the-war-room/videos/pelosi-on-romneys-attack-of-planned-parenthood-if-you-dont-respect-us-dont-expect-us

Jennifer Granholm, Christine Pelosi, chairwoman of the California Democratic party women’s caucus and Donnie Fowler, Democratic strategist discuss Mitt Romney’s comment on Tuesday on the campaign trail in Missouri that he would “get rid of” Planned Parenthood as a way to deal with the deficit. Christine Pelosi is amazed at Romney’s trajectory in his message: “Romney has gone so far down a dark path from the man who used to campaign for Planned Parenthood because he said he had a relative who had died of a botched abortion and he understood the need to be pro-choice.” Fowler agrees: “It is a terrible mistake, strategically.”

...they'll start pandering to them instead.

I'd rather have them continue with their pig-headed arrogance...as offensive as it may be...so that when they have their ass handed to them in November, they can all stand around and go "WHA HAPPEN?"

That such a course of action can actually be imagined is an indicator of just how far down the rabbit hole this country has gone.

And they've already begun a systematic campaign of voter disinfranchisement in several key swing states. They're after a 'permanent republican majority' and it looks like they're out to get it by any means necessary.

...they don't already have a plan to do that, along with taking it away from minorities?

Republican controlled states are passing voter ID laws that will take away the right to vote from groups of people who vote for Democrats...and in a round about way have brought back poll taxes!

The likelihood of anyone being able to pass any kind of constitutional amendment in the forseeable future, particularly a controversial one, is next to zilch simply because of the way the battle lines are drawn.

How is that going to get passed? It would be political suicide to attempt it. "Next to zilch" is giving it to much credit.

Even something completely bland and noncontroversial. Repealing the 19th amendment would be akin to the odds of the sun turning into a lemon.

as sure as eggs is eggs. Count on it because it's a lead pipe lock. And it will eventually become a talking point. After seeing all of the completely insane shit the pukes have managed to get mainstreamed in the last three years nothing is impossible anymore.

It would presumably require a constitutional amendment to revoke women's right to vote. However, as I've seen in the past dozen years, the Constitution is increasingly regarded by people who swear an oath to preserve, protect and defend it as a quaint old document, meaningless in our highly advanced society.

I can envision a scenario in which women's suffrage is revoked, and courts decline to hear any case against it because of (a) lack of standing; or (b) lack of proof of damage; or (c) they don't wanna; or (d) national security concerns that we can't tell you about, but trust us, it's a doozy, and if we go around questioning our political leaders at this critical juncture, terrible, horrible, awful, no-good, very bad things could happen, so just forget it, okay?

Planned Parenthood spending of Federal money is just roughly under $100 Million Dollars a year. Compare that to the 2011 Federal Budget deficit of $1.27 trillion.

Compare that to the eighty-five percent of the budget which makes of the Pentagon and non-discretionay spending.

Think about the health care costs that would happen in treatment (emergency rooms, recovery meds, etc.) if the funding to over the three million people that Planned Parenthood provides for preventative health services were cut off.

He's pandering to the bigots, who have no idea what the implication of what his actions would be.

If we had that video clip and released it, or just donated it to Santorum and/or Gingrich, it would do even more damage to that horribly flawed campaign.
