Did you know so-called “Obamacare” came from the conservative party? Not just Romney-care, but the whole concept was born from a conservative idea of supporting the BIG CORPORATE insurance agencies by mandating that all Americans buy health insurance, regardless of their economic status.
Mike will chat about the hypocrisy on the right about the absurd charge that Obamacare is a move toward socialism, and the upcoming Supreme Court hearing on this subject.
And what now if Afghanistan after the recent attack on innocent civilians? As the US is saber-rattling at Iran and Syria, what about our doomed occupation in Afghanistan? Can we ever extricate ourselves from that losing, bloody battleground without suffering more catastrophic losses on both sides? The AP reports:
The Taliban vowed Monday to avenge the killing of at least 16 Afghan civilians by a rogue American soldier, and the nation’s parliament said people “have run out of patience” with foreign forces.
In protesting the killings, some Afghan lawmakers demanded that the U.S. soldier in custody be tried in an Afghan court, the latest sign that the incident could mark an adverse turning point in the deteriorating relationship between Kabul and Washington.
The radical Islamist Taliban blamed “sick-minded American savages” for the attack, in which the U.S. soldier allegedly walked off his base near a remote southern Afghan village shortly before dawn Sunday and went door to door, opening fire on civilians inside three homes. Afghan officials said at least 16 people were killed, including three women and nine children, and that some of their bodies were burned. The soldier turned himself in to U.S. military authorities upon returning to the base, called Camp Belambay.
Five-thousand years of failure to conquer/subdue Afghanistan should’ve taught us something, Truthseekers. We could spend another 20 decades there and the only thing that would result would be 0ngoing carnage. So how much longer are we willing to throw blood and treasure into that failed campaign in the Bush terror wars? And why isn’t this the number one (or two, after the failing economy, which is failing in large part due to all this “defense” spending), election issue this year?
Never mind, we’re still focused on controlling women’s reproductive systems, rather than controlling the never-ending onslaught against Muslim nations.
