Dandruff is sexy (I now tell myself) .. snow on ancient hills (a rant).

I have been fighting it for most of my adult life (I'm 65). I have spent thousands on cures, and my insurance has spent more.

My great dermatologist, who has a secondary specialty in pathology, prescribed a new shampoo on my visit last Monday. She was excited by the match. If she was, I was too! (BTW: she is 64 and looks not a year over 44, not that it matters). So she called in the Rx shampoo, Dr. Fountain-of-Youth.

I went to the pharmacy to pick up that Rx, and some B/P meds from another physician. The shampoo was not covered by insurance. It was $356 for six fluid motherfucking ounces. WTF? I mean, really, WTF?

Cosmetics. Vanity. Hold the phone, and cancel the order. Mother of my fucking dog! I'm not paying for that shit. Let the snow fall. And I love and will continue wearing black, all you Johnny Ca$h-loving motherfuckers!

The first and last worked for me,. nothing else. I finally got over it for no reason at all. It just upped and left. Now I've just got dry skin all over which is worse than dandruff. Sigh.

A good scalp massage with coconut oil mixed with rosemary oil (essential oil) might help you. If you don't like rosemary, the coconut oil might help. Some people have success doing what's called "no-poo," which is a shampoo free way to wash the hair. You use baking soda and vinegar. Some folks have a lot of luck with it. I tried it and if I do it now and again, it keeps my hair looking super pretty and soft. However, if I do it long term it gets gross.

Another suggestion is reducing gluten or going gluten free? I've read that suggestion here and there in regards to dandruff.

I know you've probably hear a ton of dandruff cures, but I figured I would throw that out there, just in case.

Otherwise, rock the snow!

Don't get me started on the lack of insurance coverage for dermatology.

For $356, I'd assume there's a 44 year old woman inside the box to apply the shit.
