The Local Coordination Committees in Syria
A year to the revolution of freedom and dignity
These days mark the passage of one year in our Revolution, a revolution of freedom and dignity. The outcomes of this Revolution include an estimated 9,000 martyrs and tens of thousands of wounded, detained, and displaced persons. Cities struck by disaster and surrounded by the regimes machines of brutal repression and unprecedented criminality have become the norm in our country.
However, these days also attest to the millions of Syrians who have broken the wall of fear and isolation, and who reject the notion of living a life of humiliation, oppression, and injustice. The people of Syria are determined to continue their Revolution until they attain freedom and build the nation they deserve.
As we near the one-year anniversary of our Revolution, we must pause to conduct a
SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis to determine the courses of action and possible outcomes.
