There are also severe thunderstorm warnings all over the state. They are heading my way. Soon to be followed by other, worse warnings I'm sure.
Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide.
See you in Oz.

(17,111 posts)Following Twitter is like watching doom approach. The teevee map shows the leading edge is almost here.
My plan - I've wrapped my mattress with bungee cords and secured the cat carriers to the sides. If I hear it, I will turn it over on me and piss my pants. I call it the Romney Cat Tornado Plan in honor of Seamus.

(17,111 posts)would be warning people with some live reporting. But noooooooo! They have that tiny county map in the corner filled in with garish colors. Don't know what they mean unless it's an Easter Egg Hunt is imminent.
Now they have added a screen crawl. That will really warn people.

Judging by the regional radar north of Columbia is getting pounded right now..

(32,083 posts)That line is headed for the coast. I slept right through it when it passed through my part of the state. The rest of the nasty stuff looks like it will stay to the south and east of here. At least that is what the weather man just said. We had our tornado last week. It hit about 15 miles beyond my town. Now THAT was a nasty storm! It didn't surprise me that it spawned a tornado. About 8 homes were destroyed. There was a second one around Orangeburg. We sure need the rain, but not everything else that is coming with it.

(17,111 posts)The map shows a lot of crap still to the west of us. It may move far enough north so we miss most of it. Remains to be seen.
