Do you think Corporations are letting Global Warming happen for other reasons?

The reason we think is so they can continue to burn fossil fuel for cheap..

But I've been thinking...let's just say Antarctica becomes liveable

You now have the one thing we didn't think we were getting more of - that is real estate

Sure, there's a treaty in place keeping people from moving there.

But there were a lot of broken treaties through history

What good is all that coal, natural gas and oil if we leave it in the ground? It is future income to the 1% provided we continue to burn it.
The 1% says we owe them something. Well if we stop consuming there goes their wealth.
At some point there will be no more wealth
for them to get their hands on when none of us can afford to buy what they have to sell.
In the mean time we will destroy as much of the environment as is possible so that the wealth continues to flow to them.

Combine advanced robotic tech that will eliminate the need for almost all labor and a climate catastrophe that will eliminate many of those redundant laborers and their families and the 0.01% view of the situation we are in is clearer.

Just so there's a bit more land, that completely different corporations would be able to take advantage of?

No. These days, we're lucky to get a corporation to look decades ahead. Antarctica won't be habitable for centuries, even under the worst scenarios. They would also have no idea what the climate would be like - rainfall etc. There's land available already in the other continents, it's just desert, tundra, etc.

absolutely absurd to think this has to do with turning antartica into viable real estate.
