Low levels of healthy gut bacteria could be the cause of mental health issues

Eat more yogurt! Low levels of healthy gut bacteria could be the cause of mental health issues such as 'anxiety and schizophrenia'

People suffering from anxiety, might just need to eat more 'healthy' bacteria.

Some scientists think there may be a link between our digestive tract microbes and disorders such as anxiety, schizophrenia and autism.

They are beginning to recognise the power of healthy gut bacteria, especially seeing that the average adult carries up to five pounds of bacteria - trillions of microbes - in their digestive tract.

1. Having a "gut feeling" probably inadvertently refers to that.

Others like "I/you don't have the guts for this or that." Refer to emotions.

Digestion issues relate directly to body weight., i.e. our obesity epidemic. Fresh, raw fruits and vegetables also have live enzymes...probiotic effects...decreasing with long storage, cooking, processing, pesticides etc.

Important information.

for stomach upset...thought all sauerkraut was raw...but in any case, they said it worked. I love "food cures". Guess there's no chance for pizza, LOL.

About having a healthy gut with happy bacteria. The issue is just being touched on in recent years, but I think there will be a lot more information and understanding about the importance of a healthy gut.
