Santorum: no apology needed for Quran burning

Talk about being willing to win a primary over the dead bodies of Soldiers. Dumb asses, they went out and said they were sorry because the military wanted them to. The burning didn't help things and while saying you are sorry won't solve the problems it created, it certainly helps.

http://www.ajc.com/news/nation-world/santorum-no-apology-needed-1363430.html

There was nothing deliberately done wrong here," Santorum said Sunday on ABC's "This Week". "This was something that happened as a mistake. Killing Americans in uniform is not a mistake. It was something that deliberate."

More than 30 people have been killed in clashes since it emerged Tuesday that copies of the Muslim holy book and other religious materials had been thrown into a fire pit used to burn garbage at Bagram Air Field, a large U.S. base north of Kabul. Protesters angry over Quran burnings by American troops lobbed grenades Sunday at a U.S. base in northern Afghanistan and clashed with police and troops in a day of violence that left seven international troops wounded and two Afghans dead.

"The response needs to be apologized for by (President Hamid) Karzai and the Afghan people for attacking and killing our men and women in uniform and overreacting to this inadvertent mistake," Santorum said on NBC's "Meet the Press". "That is the real crime here, not what our soldiers did."

... for mistakes, you should only apologize when you "deliberately do wrong"?

He has the moral code of a four-year-old.

Rumor is in Kabul that the Qurans were being used as message transports. And so they were destroyed as such.

Not a fact. Rumor.

for admitting the slightest error totally undermines their existence. Torquemada never apologized for any witch he ever burned in error.

WOuld have been so much worse if he was in the White House. Hell, even Bush would have had the sense to do what Obama is doing. Santorum would have created even bigger problems for our troops.

I caught an episode of O'reilly Factor with Dennis Miller as a guest. Miller made a joke that went something along the lines, "I haven't seen a starting 9 this bad since the '62 Mets." I was thinking, what the fuck? I thought there was some solid candidates in that field.

I keep thinking of that joke whenever I look at this current crop from the GOP. I can't see how anyone could possibly vote for any one of them. Santorum is a joke, Romney comes across as an ass in the debates, Newt is probably the biggest threat in the handling himself in public speaking and debates, but he says stupid shit like kids should work for their school and plenty of other things.
