..... the first responders @ the Boston Marthon bombing, the teachers in Moore, OK,
the teachers and staff @ Sandy Hook Elementary School, and the Hot Shot Fire Fighters
from Prescott, AZ but they always seem to stand tall and proud when the chips
are down because that is what real heros do.
Give me those people any day of the week and today's republicans*
can keep thier Koch Brothers, Fox News Propagandists, and Louie Gohmerts.
* today's repugs are a long way from Dwight Eisenhower, Margaret Chase Smith,
Gov. Ray Shafer, Mark Hatfield or Abe Lincoln

(If Ms. Tuff was in North Carolina the republicans would make it harder with all
kinds of unneeded crap.)

"We're not gonna hate you, baby. It's a good thing that you're giving up," Tuff says after having Hill put his weapons and ammunition on the counter. Tuff tells Hill she loves him and will pray for him.

These qualities are the antithesis of the authoritarian/militarized police/republican/christian/NRA culture.

Strongly agree that
compassion and courage!
I listened to a nearly 15 minute recording at CNN.com of Ms. Tuff talking to a police dispatcher, with the gun man in the background. While Ms. Tuff most likely was not a trained "hostage negotiator", she had been trained multiple times how to handle school emergencies in the aftermath of Newtown. She trained and drilled so many times she thought at first it was another drill. Part of the training was to use a code word that others who shared her training would recognize to inform them of the situation...which she did. She also gave credit, in a local TV interview, to her church for teaching her to "anchor" her thoughts and emotions. I would be hesitant to call Ms. Tuff untrained.

(794 posts)Teabaggers and the NRA have been working hard to make America understand that we must react with deadly violence whenever there is the opportunity. Teabaggers criticize MLK and his followers for not using guns to mow down their opponents. Teabaggers (republicans and right wing "libertarians" are not capable of moral clarity or basic personal charity towards anyone that is different from them. They continue to dissolve our national cohesion and destroy our future by insisting on maintaining a base that is forever paranoid and violent. They want to spread the right wing paranoia and violence to include all Americans. In this way the right wing and it's NRA domestic terror organization is hoping to eradicate American safety and law- thus undermining the average American's relationship with the government and our fellow Americans.
Republicans hate this woman for being a hero WITHOUT a gun, they don't need to come out and say it for it to be true. Teabaggers often disuise themselves as logical, concerned progressives because they know that no one will take them seriously otherwise.
