(34,589 posts)from the cash he made in just a few months time on Wall Street, after the Clinton administration repealed Glass Steagall. His making all of that cash, and the repeal of Glass-Steagall, were unrelated, by the way.

(62 posts)Chicago can now see clearly what a scumbag he is.
He'll get his arse recalled shortly (I hope).
I'll be asking my relatives in Chicago next month what they think of this scumbag.

Seriously?
If he's screwing the public schools, then it's a serious problem. Public schools should always be available to all. Private schools does not make any sense unless you want to indoctrine your kid with something very specific. That's what private schools are - just a way to keep your kid out of a class of citizens they do not want to get involved.
I am a product of a public school that has done well 20 years ago. Even with a minor gang problem that they had - we still did fine.

(70,090 posts)he's cleaning up the public schools. hopefully fulfilling the promise of public schools, which has not been met in chicago for a generation. the schools that are being closed are snake pits of the worst sort. anyone who argues against these turnarounds is just someone who cannot stand change. there are always people who will fight for the status quo no matter how vile. a wise leader tunes that out.
as far as the union, karen lewis is the most arrogant, ignorant union leader i have ever seen. if the teachers union gets screwed, put the blame on her, not on the mayor.

(1,412 posts)like Rahmbo, she did not think he was working in the President's best interests, she was absolutely right. President Obama seems to be doing much better without him.
