(31,011 posts)When a team wins the super bowl, they do it. They do it for Olympians, hockey teams, basketball teams, and so on.
They've been doing it for a very long time and it's not likely to go away. It's nothing more than a feel-good photo-op. Not a big deal.
We've got far more important things to get our underwear in a bunch over rather than a photo-op.

(31,011 posts)A photo-op of these teams with the president means public relations. It's good for elections and it's good for those teams' home towns and states.

(31,011 posts)Sure, corporate gets it's little feel good moment and even a little money, but it's also public relations for the politicians, those home towns and states.
Photo-ops carry a lot of weight regardless of your feelings on the matter.

(20,277 posts)I still think this is a kind of goofy thing to get 'outraged' about. Sounds like a freeper thing to pick on the President about.

(68,868 posts)Yeah, because I'm sure an avid sports fan like Obama had to be bribed to meet the only undefeated team in NFL history.
Only a crazy person would make that accusationn.
This is a trivial complaint made by rightwingers and trolls, no one else.
Feel free to alert.

(3,978 posts)I am a big NFL fan but I think this is an utter waste of time. I can see the President inviting the Ravens as they were the recent champs. But the 72 Dolphins? No way....
