Poll: Hispanics Favor Democrats Over GOP By Big Margin

Hispanics in the United States, whether they were born in America or not, overwhelmingly favor the Democratic Party, according to new findings from Gallup released Thursday.

Fifty-seven percent of Hispanic immigrants born outside the U.S. said they identify with or lean toward the Democrats, while only a quarter gave the edge to the GOP. An identical percentage of Hispanics born in the U.S. with one or both parents born outside the country also expressed an attachment to the Democratic Party, compared with 34 percent who said they identify with the Republicans.

Among U.S.-born Hispanics with both parents born in the country, 64 percent signaled support for the Democratic Party while 30 percent gave the nod to the GOP.

President Barack Obama claimed a strong approval rating among all three groups of Hispanics, with majorities in each giving him high marks.

Less than a year removed from an election in which Obama boasted a huge advantage among Hispanics, the findings aren't exactly a surprise. Other polls in recent months have shown that Hispanics align with Democrats on some of the most hotly debated issues today, including the new federal health care law and gun control.

but the problem here in Central California (a.k.a., the "cesspool," as per Bay Areans) is that Hispanics don't vote. I'm not talking about those who are undocumented, I'm talking about legal citizens, who have registered Democrat but voter turnout for Hispanics in this area is abysmal. A HUGE part of it is that many are rural dwellers and we all know how the Democratic Party loves them -- NOT.

So . . . if the Democrats want Hispanics in this part of the planet to vote, they might want to start out by doing outreach in those rural areas and quit calling them hayseeds. Just a suggestion.

Around here, they hate Republicans because they're a bunch of rich, old white men who keep putting everybody else into the poorhouse.

Few mamas out here raise stupid children. They don't survive the heat.
