Way to go Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma (R) He bought 278 case of Girl Scout Cookies

“I purchased 278 cases of Girl Scout cookies in the last four hours,” he said.

Indiana lawmaker Bob Morris stands by Girl Scouts slam

State Rep. Bob Morris refused to sign a resolution honoring the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts this week, writing in a letter that after doing some research on the Internet he found that the Girl Scouts is “quickly becoming a tactical arm of Planned Parenthood.

Morris, a Republican, also wrote in his letter that the Girl Scouts “promote homosexual lifestyles” and has been “subverted in the name of liberal progressive politics and the destruction of traditional American family values.”

He told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he stands by his comments and noted that his daughters were leaving the Girl Scouts for an alternative group run by pro-life, conservative Christians.

Indiana Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma mocked Morris’s comments on Tuesday and spent much of the day passing out Thin Mints to other members, the AP reported.

“I purchased 278 cases of Girl Scout cookies in the last four hours,” he said.

The latest problem the right has w/ the Girl Scouts has been brought on by Fox
News who were upset that the GSA cited Media Matters as a place where you
could see if what somebody is saying is correct or not.

Rep. Bosma bought himself a whole truck load of votes w/ that buy.
The $ might have come from a campaign account or from his operational
funds he gets to run his office.

I certainly couldn't do that with my personal funds.

And even if he did use campaign funds, I still find it to be a lot of money.

Buying votes, it's the American way.

The money goes to a good cause so I have no problem with his actions.
Some girl might get to go to summer camp because she sold a lot of cookies
and at that summer camp she will have fun, play w/friends, and just maybe
find something that sparks her interest which might become her life long job.

Lots of things to be upset about but this in not one of them.

Besides thin mints taste good.

He will probably put that in his tax deductions as an expense like key chains, calenders, and other give aways.

Looks like he is going to get a lot of bang for his buck. Even if he is able to do this without costing any actual out of pocket expense, still good on him for standing up and taking an opposing stand to bullshit. We should all contact him and give him support so that he can learn that standing up to republican bullshit can be rewarding to his career.

Good on him but ironic... One wonders where all the other "sane" repukes are? Maybe they are thinking that they will let their party be completely destroyed and then rebuild from scratch. Alternately, maybe some of them are thinking that if they don't do something (even if token), they are going to lose their state races.

Driving desperately from Walmart to school parking lot to wherever else I've seen Girl Scouts set up tables, screeching to a halt, getting out, and demanding, "I need all your Thin Mints, and I need them... *NOW*" while slamming a $100 down on their card table.

Still, he couldn't get some Samoas? Those are the best.

I caught this statement up there on Morris.

He told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he stands by his comments and noted that his daughters were leaving the Girl Scouts for an alternative group run by pro-life, conservative Christians.

I wonder how his girls feel about that. Oh boy what fun. You can't be part of the Girl Scouts with your friends but hey you get to join the "Jesus girls"

My what fun they will have.

they are sick sick twisted people, the jesus camp pushers.

the poor kids, you can see the deadened look in the eyes....or, those who react by giving themselves over to a bizarre psychological reaction, like some fugue-state, for which they will receive much positive reinforcement.

I can only hope that most of them see the hypocrisy as they get older, and rebel against it.

I don't know who is responsible for creating it but it was passed amongst my liberal friends to drum up support for the Girl Scouts back in January.

On edit:

Did a bit of research and found this horrible web site... It all goes back to allowing a transgender girl in a Colorado troop.
