This is disappointing

Paypal co-founder is revealed as one of the super pac players behind the scene.

PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel wrote four checks in December and January totaling $2.6 million to Endorse Liberty, a super PAC running ads on behalf of Rep. Ron Paul (Tex.), records show. Thiel, an iconoclastic former chess master who studied philosophy at Stanford University, has long backed libertarian causes and runs a San Francisco venture-capital firm.

He donated $2.6 million, is this for real? Now I have to start thinking about using paypal.

I don't know if this is for real, but it sure sounds like it.

Yes, this is disappointing to read someone as intelligent as this guy would back Ron Paul. I guess people as highly intelligent as Thiel tend to me mad in the head.

...which works about the same, and better in some ways. Worth looking into if you buy/sell on the internet.

where everyone can be on their own with no oversight and pesky things like laws and building codes.

That said, he is a billionaire because he SOLD paypal to ebay about a dozen years ago or something. It isn't his baby any longer.

Lots of reasons to hate paypal, but I wouldn't count that as one of them.

Why didn't he use PayPal to make his donations?
Does he think it sucks as much as I think PayPal sucks?

As a consumer, this certainly adjusts my view of PayPal.

I don't use it, but I think I'll talk to the wife about her account.

PayPal can win back trust if they completely disavow their creator.
