Wife's from Brooklyn, and still has family there. And I will be making my biannual trip next month for a week there.

(39,191 posts)I think when it's all said and done, the good folks of NYC will decide for us if he's a suitable candidate.
It's that simple.

(3,891 posts)The special election in South Carolina that saw the lying asshole Sanford elected to the House. I'm also assuming that you felt the same way about the Zimmerman trial.
There are issues that appear local, but actually do carry import outside of the narrow confines of those making the decisions. If we used that metric, I'm not physically located there, and therefor have no dog in the hunt, then many of the "local" issues would remain local and continue to be travesties.
Just sayin'

(20,277 posts)I don't live in the city, so I don't have a vote. I think he would have made a good mayor. His career is pretty much over. I have seen a couple of commercials for Quinn. I'm not impressed with her at all.

It's really not my concern, though I do consider him unqualified to marry me.

(3,249 posts).... and people on DU will have opinions about it.
Do you wish for DUers not to express opinions about things they can't vote on?
Or only not express opinions you don't agree with?

(39,191 posts)I don't give a shit who has an opinion, simply feigning outrage over the sexual dalliances of ANYONE isn't what we're about.

I kinda hope the NYCers do elect Weiner. So I can continue to make fun of my home state.

(113 posts)If the allegation that Weiner tried to pay off a woman to not share the photos with others is true, this is not a man that should be running in an election for the most powerful mayoral office in the country. How many of the NYC voters are going to be informed of the details of his transgressions before?
Sorry guys, but as a party, we must hold our candidates accountable for their actions - something lacking in recent years.
