Filner Harassment Scandal Grows As Second Woman Comes Forward (with update)

Another woman came forward today to report an unwanted advance by Mayor Bob Filner, telling KPBS News in an exclusive interview that the then-congressman patted her “posterior” while making a crude joke at a crowded fundraiser.


All of the accusations, statements and apologies from the key players in the developing story about allegations of sexual harassment in Mayor Bob Filner's office and calls from former mayoral supporters for his resignation.

Laura Fink, the owner of the political consulting firm Fink & Hernandez Consulting LLC, worked for then-Congressman Bob Filner from 2004 to 2006.
Laura Fink, who runs a political consulting firm, told KPBS that she was working as Filner’s deputy campaign manager when the incident occurred at a San Diego fundraising event in 2005.

Fink said she documented the incident in an email to Filner’s personal account; in it she demanded an apology.

Sorry, I'll support the ass-patter on this. It's wrong wrong wrong, but we got bigger fish to fry and unless you honestly believe he will be replaced by someone who will represent us better, I would suggest that you lay off the only progressive option for Mayor SD currently has.

Every man who stands up to The Man is hit with an MSM sex scandal. All of them.

Where were all of these women until immediately after Chalk-U-Pier's acquittal? Where?

3. I read the filing with the civil case, part of work, it's on the table

I am willing to lay good odds on criminal charges on sexual battery, at the very least...women have called the Sherriffs, so multiple counts.

You are free to support that. This is not a minor scandal.

FYI, when I was in college there were rumors...he was still a professor...so you could say life is catching up.

That said, I will repeat what I said earlier in the day...I think what ails Filner, Weiner, vitter, wide stance Craig...is actually psychiatric...notice, I am not being partisan on this. It's a form of addiction.

Now I need to find our where tomorrow's presser is...we are still n phase two...I bet phase three by next week. Scandals have a very predictable pattern.

Oh and Jackson was working as his communications director barely a couple months ago. She resigned due to his actions.

Donna Frye...was working for the Mayor, she resigned...and she is a progressive.

Our enemies hold a large advantage over us because they only believe in four things:

1) Winning

2) Protecting their privileged lifestyles (EDIT: protecting or improving...)

3) Using OUR beliefs and values against us.

5. Todd Gloria.

He is the Council President and takes over the seat. Yes, in the charter.

He is a progressive democrat.

Now we can do this the Mayor's way, have a recall, he won't survive, costing millions, and a DLC type best case, or Carl DeMaio if he decides to run.

The best choice, from a process of politics in this town is actually for Filner to step down. The longer this goes on, the worst the fractures will be in the Democratic Party, and the better chance of not getting a progressive. As a reporter I cannot, nor will call for his resignation, I am just presenting to you the facts of life.

He is not going to survive this, and there might even be prison time here.

According to the SD Sherriffs multiple women have contacted them already.

And damn sneaky will see if the women vets have the conference on their site.

Realize we are all kind of short. Women are always accused of ulterior motives when sexual harassment claims come up. You did ask if they were looking for book deals. It's comments like that why women are very hesitant, tripple that with a man like Filner who has a reputation for destroying political enemies.

I don't actually live in SD anymore, so I don't know everyone in government.

I know it is getting harder on DU to distinguish between people who actually want to discuss an issue and people who are just playing games, but it's me, DogKnob. You actually have sort of met me. I would have thought that you would know better.

7. That is the best choice right now

And I will add SCal Democrats. The fractures are spreading shard like.

But in San Diego the party is now split between the DLC types and the progressives...and on top of that the base...which I think will start to fracture soon as more of this shit emerges. The elite is completely split and the Central committee can't make heads or tails...that is well known now locally.

I tried to ferret this out and get it on record. I thought it was the down town mafia...with a few who turned tail...believe or not, this is not the down town mafia. It is Bob Filner. All this started well before medical marihuana clinics or...Olson's trial. It started, from the complaint again, on the state of the city after he took over...as far as Jackson is concerned.

Some of what the civil complaint claims is that the Mayor believes he can do anything he wants to because he is the mayor.

It gets worst, Filner is not in talking terms with the Council, the District Attorney, or the media. It is what it is, and highly dysfunctional.

The best part, I was all but surprised. I don't know if this is rumors when I was in College, or the fact that I expect nothing better from politicians...regardless of party.

Nothing like coming home from the presser with the National Veterans Women of America, who were going to give Filner a life time award, rescinded that and said, ok come be our keynote speaker, and now that has been rescinded too.
