Gun Rights Activist Adam Kokesh Arrested

http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/gun-rights-activist-adam-kokesh-arrested

Libertarian gun rights activist Adam Kokesh was arrested Tuesday night in his northern Virginia home on charges related to gun and drug violations, the Washington Post reported.

The arrest was announced in a statement posted on Kokesh's website.

According to the Post, the search warrant was served by U.S. Park Police, which oversees Freedom Plaza, the Washington, D.C. park where Kokesh recorded a video in which he can be seen loading a shotgun — a violation of the district's gun laws.

Police confirmed late last week that they were investigating Kokesh for the video.

As someone who believes in the right to keep and bear arms, I consider people like Kokesh and La Pierre the greatest threat to it, currently.

it's all part of an investigation of an illegal act committed by this nutcase.

Glad he was arrested, he was not a responsible firearms owner, and now, if convicted of the Schedule 1 drug offense, he'll lose his gun rights, GOOD.

RE: Raid on ADAM VS THE MAN Studios

10JUL13 (HERNDON, VA 10 JULY 2013)--- On the evening of Tuesday, 09JUL13, at approximately 7:45 PM, a combination of US Parks Police (an arm of the DHS) raided Adam Kokesh's residence. Local Herndon police assisted in the armed invasion. The officers used a battering ram to knock in the door after two knocks, and did not announce that they had a warrant. Immediately after breaking down the door, a flash bang grenade was deployed in the foyer.

Numerous police vehicles, including a light armored vehicle and two low-flying helicopters barricaded Adam's street. More than 20 armored SWAT team members surrounded the house, as well as a number of detectives, and plainclothes officers. Assault rifles were aimed on all members of the team as they were handcuffed without being told why they were detained. Masked and armored police in full “Storm Trooper” gear flooded in and ransacked the residence. The team was cordoned in a front room, while Adam was pulled aside for questioning.

Over the course of the next five hours, the police searched every corner of the house with canine units and blueprints to the house obtained prior to the search. All officers refused to speak to the crew while they we being detained. They confiscated cell phones and personal items with force. Throughout the ordeal, the police repeatedly showed a volatile desire to initiate aggressive, forceful conduct with detainees. At one point, Adam politely requested to use the restroom and was kicked by the officer forcing him to sit handcuffed on the floor. After hours of determined attempts, the safe was forced open and all items inside were confiscated. Adam was arrested and his crew were told he was being brought to the Herndon Police department overnight. Well after midnight, police officers cleared the house.

Dangerous irresposible gun behavior includes breaking established laws about appropriate responsible gun ownership. Kokesh is little different from Ted Nugent when it comes to gun responsibility; Nugent is a known multiple poacher and loves to brandish his guns to threaten others. Hopefully Kokesh loses the legal right to own or posses firearms for the rest of his life- (as nugent should) Many American lives will be positively affected by his imprisonment and abscence from the political discussion America needs to have about guns and the ease with which gun dealers side-step the law and sell to dangerous, irresponsible people with "collections" that make for complete armories for irresponsible, conspiracy theory advocates and misanthropes that hate their fellow man (especially the fellow man with permanent tans)
Kokesh and other gundamentalists see America as their enemy because our laws prevent them from shooting whoever they want, whenever they want. The NRA and gun loons like kokesh want Americans gunned down all day, everyday so that they can continue to propogate fear and death for the average American, All in support of their paranoid conspiracy theory mongering and the destruction of American cohesion.
Wonder what it will take for the federal and state governments to understand that Nugent is just as dangerous and irresponsible as kokesh and should be relieved of his right to be irresponsible with guns (even though nugent believes his irresponsible gun activities to be a political statement)
Do we really need misanthropes and child rapists to carry guns for our gun laws to be "fair"? If not, why is the NRA so fixated on reinstatement of gun rights for violent felons and wife beaters?
If there is any irony in the universe, evil people like Kokesh and Nugent would serve in a hell consisting of guns that are as small as the man brandishing them and victims that shoot back with much larger guns. The size thing is a real embarrasment for them (we ALL know why)

I have a neighbor who keeps a case of beer and his gun in his truck.

Sounds like a winning formula for a drunken road rage murder, eh?

I met him during that time. Seemed like a pretty cool guy, at least at that time. Seem like he's gone a bit off the deep end since (thinking specifically about the "final american revolution" and calls for armed marches).
