(61,891 posts)The man's son was murdered. As a mom I can barely stand to listen to those tapes of Trayvon screaming. I can think of lots of reasons why the father would whisper no.

(14,337 posts)Why is there an all female jury? Maybe the Defense thought their being White would change that, but I don't think so. Males just don't get it.

(27,461 posts)that's the first I heard that. That leaves a lot of room for the jury to decide that the cop misheard or misunderstood what Mr. Martin said.
And thus no "flip flop".

(25,183 posts)On one hand, you have only TM's mother saying the scream was his, and that was immediately followed up by the mother on the other side. Perhaps a "tie", perhaps not. Then, today you have a parade of witnesses on the defendant's side saying it was him, followed by the cop's testimony that even the father didn't think it was his son.
A big, big part of reasonable doubt was established today.

I say go for removing all CC and open carry privileges.

(13,985 posts)What does CC have anything to do with this??
You propose punishing all the law abiding cc citizens because of a psycho like GZ??

darkangel218
(13,985 posts)What I would do is fight for a psych evaluation for anyone who applies for a cc or open carry permit. That of course , in adition to a very thorough backround check.
Sorry again.

(94 posts)I guess what I meant was just that the incident could have never happened without legal carry.
So someone needs to weigh the rights and security of gun owners would won't "oopsy" and kill someone against the threat of one who might?
A better background check sounds good too

(61,891 posts)He was clearly suspicious of Zimmerman after the shooting. He's twisted himself into a pretzel to help the defense. This is a very corrupt little community.

(10,847 posts)Now the police chief is up talking about how bad it was to have a group listen to the audio together.
Sadly I think enough questions about the screaming will be introduced that the jurors will say it could be Z. I am now leaning toward this thing going for the defense.

(25,183 posts)O'Mara won an awful lot of things pre-trial, even getting the judge changed. I think that having an all woman jury will help him when he finishes up demonizing TM, and he certainly won something by having no African-Americans on the jury, and one Hispanic on there, to boot.
He's managed to poke at least a tiny hole in every one of the prosecution's witnesses, and in some cases, big ones. I didn't hear any such thing from the prosecution on the defense's witnesses so far. Since they probably won't put GZ on the stand, his inconsistencies will get kicked under the rug.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon Jul 8, 2013, 01:26 PM, and the Jury voted 3-3 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: Troll. DU is infested. I'm about done.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Yeah probably a troll. Not a disruptive post though.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: This is a douche troll post, but the post does not rise to the level of a "hide".
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: Send the troll to the shit-can. Thanks!

(10,362 posts)His father saying he doesn't recognize the voice clouds the issue.
The prosecution's case is falling apart. They are plugging leaks in their sinking ship rather than sailing it effectively. The prosecution should have presented some smoking gun evidence already. That's what I expected after this incident occurred. All they have done is present reasonable doubt about Zimmerman's account, but haven't presented compelling evidence of their own assertions.
Every piece of evidence the prosecution presents is shot so full of doubt that it's borderline useless. That's a far cry from evidence that moves the jury beyond a reasonable doubt.

(1,799 posts)If that's what he meant, doesn't mean he was saying it wasn't Trayvon.
Ever heard audio of your kid screaming right before he was murdered? I can imagine a father isn't in the best mindset after that.
Your conjectures aren't obvious to those if us who think Zimmerman is guilty.
I'm curious. Why do you support Zimmerman? And how come so few that do won't admit it?

(4,611 posts)On edit:
Zimmerman saying that the voice doesn't sound like him == Ironclad denial, lie, case over, go straight to the electric chair.
Tracy Martin saying the voice doesn't sound like his son == doesn't mean he said it wasn't his son, not a denial, means nothing, nothing to see here.

(1,799 posts)Yesterday (I think) I posted a link to that exact audio because someone else brought it up.
Some people believe that's what Z meant while others think he was saying he didn't recognize his own voice on tape. My point was that both of those are opinions.
IMO he wouldn't be stupid enough to say it wasn't him even if it wasn't.
