Its a logical fallacy to state the importance of an issue is proportional to the number of people exposing such issue.

But as you mentioned, yes, there are others.

would do this Clearly Wrong Thing: like Teabaggers, Islamophobes, or fans of joke "histories" like Kersey Graves or Andrew Dickson White, they genuinely think they're showing The Way Things Are in black and white--that people are just not getting what they're spelling out

He's been a pretty good voice on many other issues. Not this one!
