Beautiful Day in Egypt

I am thrilled that Morsi was ousted. My family, all from Egypt, were less than thrilled when he was elected. Once his horrible policies started to go into place I could see the downfall. The people are poor and under him were going to get poorer.

The site that brought tears to my eyes was the cheers in the crowd. They wanted him gone. They packed Tahrir Square. They protested for days on end. I personally wish they could have done it a little more peacefully, but I'm glad they did do it.

I posted this picture once before, but here it is again. My family in Egypt before they were kicked out of the country. This is from the 1940's:

No matter what happens in Egypt, it's clear that the people are taking control of the system for the first time. There will be plenty of missteps along the way until they figure things out, but at least they are in charge of their own destiny. It wasn't imposed on them through invasion and occupation like Iraq, or by the infestation of foreign mercenaries like Syria.

go. I know nothing about Morsi. But the law is the law and if you don't like him then in the next election give him the boot.

I can't see something like that happening here. I mean I pray it doesn't but with the crazy right who knows.

I don't mean to offend anyone because I don't know anything about the country and its policies. But a coup isn't the way.

I certainly had concerns with Morsi and his crackdown on foes and free expression.

On the other hand, he was democratically elected. And there was just a military coup.

If there's anything I don't trust, it's a military coup.

I just worry we'll be looking at a Syrian style civil war in Egypt soon.

Best Dentist ever and a real neighborly person.

Glad it is working out for the Egyptian people.

The reality is that they were never out of control. What will come next? The military will decide.
