The Constitution provides that the President shall be removed from office only upon "Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." U.S. Const. Art. II, § 4.

That is the legal standard.

The best are too wise to run for POTUS. Frankly we don't deserve the best either and most wouldn't want the best. 50% of the US are idiots ...why would want to deal with that? So don't expect the best from any POTUS. War criminals and bankster thieves run free ...and people keep signing up for the military and investing in mutual funds ...so we have ourselves to blame too.

Impeachment thread. That way I can collect all of my thoughts in one place, add info as I get it, and keep track. The politicos who scan this board can see it and know that the issue hasn't died with me, as it apparently has with so many, and as I stated in the OP, impeachment could or would be attempted on those who raid the people's money- not for the raiding, but for any number of things that are sure to have taken place for which they could be charged. It's not like it hasn't happened, it has and is. We are in a truly Orwellian, post-constituional, post-legal world at this point. That's a fact. Everything else is just window dressing.

so very many reasons why. I don't love Obama. I've been quite critical of many of his policies, but this is absurd. No way that advocating or working toward the chained CPI, odious as that is, rises to an impeachable offense. gad. that you think it does, indicates you know nothing about impeachment whatsoever.

I said the chained CPI is the straw that broke the camel's back. I said I will work to impeach anyone involved with chained CPI. That may mean a lot of work. It would have to be for an impeachable offense. Your high post count doesn't mean you know more than me. It just means you post a lot.
