This winter, due to cuts in supplemental heating monies and plain and simple impoverishment, some will die from the cold, in their own homes and apartments. This is abomination. I beg #Occupy groups and Democrats in such areas to push this subject into the general conversation. Before we have to look back and wish that we'd done something...kudos to all!

8. Thank you, I know in our small town on LI, people often donated, mostly anonymously, to the

local energy company to provide home heating oil for those who could not afford it. It was not an organized effort, but I know people who received free deliveries during the winter based on those donations. Maybe communities could organize better rather than depending on those who do so without being asked?

That is something the Occupy groups could talk about, I agree.

I know the first time I read of someone in NYC dying because she had no heat, I could not believe it, that in a country like this, people are allowed to die because of poverty

9. Thank you for the idea, people can do that without much fuss or bother...

I posted this call to action to a couple of main east-coast #Occupy forums with to my knowledge, zero response. Reddit as well.

Like you, I can neither believe nor bear it, with all of our resources...
