So a woman just came in to where I work and is making plans to go to Serbia.

She's originally from there but has been living in Seattle for the past 20 years (loves it).

And no surprise why she's going -- she's ill, and can't afford health care here. Serbia, like the rest of the civilized world, offers no-cost care to its citizens.

What is wrong with us? And WHY can't we get this message through those thick Republican heads?

Lovely woman. I feel sad for her, and ashamed of our "health care" system here.

But all that insurance lobby and for profit health care money going into their election coffers is more important to them than the health of our country.

been met with such coordinated resistance. They get their message out to the masses and then you've got a chunk of the country saying NO SOCIALIST HEALTHCARE! He's gotta govern them all -- what would you have done?

Or are you just blaming them for the fact that the Republicans will do anything to prevent it from happening?

they're representing the insurance companies.

The only solution is to vote them out.

It is the biggest sham this country has ever concocted on the American people.

Insurance reform was NOT what we needed..we need to get insurances out of the equation period.

My Brother was within the last couple of weeks of his life due to a brain tumor. He had been in a nursing home... he had "good" insurance so he was being taken care of. He had a bad turn of events and was sent to the hospital where he had the surgery to extend his life a few months. He stabilized and the hospital wanted him to return to the nursing home. His insurance company refused to pay for more nursing home care.... they determined he was able to live at home. He was a single father and didn't have someone to help him if he did move back home. My family had to come up with $2000.00 for the nursing home to admit him again.

It is truly sickening when our Doctors are overruled time and time again because of some greedy bastard in an office in a distant city calling the shots.

At least this woman has a place to go to get care...

bought and paid for by American tax dollars. They've got their's so screw everyone else.

Back at the beginning of the GOP Presidential campaign I wanted one of the moderators to ask each and every one of the candidates to raise their hand if they had healthcare paid for by our tax dollars and which one of them would be willing to give it up. That would have been interesting.
