And when I say, "Mom," I mean a female force who was not dead or was not beaten/yelled at to the point that she was only a maid.

My question was more along the lines that their Mom, whom they may or may not have loved, wasn't available to them. She was either gone or beaten silent.
My son blushes, but he always gets a hug (and a basketball play) when I see him after work. My daughter always gets a hug and some face cleaning.
Don't know that she was beaten, but relationships certainly strained. Read this.

(25,287 posts)This is the first case where I've heard of a parent of a terrorist saying that their kid "was framed".
As dysfunctional as this family is, they are the most supportive of any terrorist that I remember.
