Shameful anecdote: When walking around DC near the White House a few days after the march, suddenly the presidential motorcade spewed forth from the White House. Several SUVs, limos, motorcycles, and an ambulance or two, I think.

There were only about three or four of us there at the intersection when someone with a familiar profile waved at me from a limo (and at me specifically, as nobody else was looking his way). Reflexively, I waved back. A few seconds later, I realised I had just given a friendly wave back to the man I utterly detested, W Bush himself...

Maybe it's as well it happened so suddenly. If I had had time to think about it and flipped the president the bird he so richly deserved, I might be in Guantanamo to this day...
