The only reason the GOP has any sway at all is due to the undemocratic way our nation divides, assigns and protects political power. From the Electoral College, to the equal weighting of small and large states, to gerrymandering and voter suppression, it is rigged in their favor.

taken today has now shown the world that lowlife white supremacist terrorists are still in charge. With the vote today by the GOP of racists trump has escaped punishment again while showing the world it's racist fascist underbelly. America has been shown to be what it is. A divided country in which fascists at the behest of their leader made a damn serious and lethal attempt to install a racist demagogue as the leader of our nation. And all the time between Nov 3rd to January 6th a majority of republikkkans never called out trump's lies or the big lie. December 7, 1941, Sept 11, 2001, January 6, 2021, February 13, 2021, all days that will live in infamy as attacks on our country. With January 6, 2021, standing out to me because it was Americans killing and injuring Americans in the name of their fascist racist leader. And the overt racism of how those insurrectionists were allowed to just walk away like they just had attended a picnic galls me. Thousands of them just walked away and will remain free. Even with trump having hamstrung the protective services that many just walked away...

It was because of the GOP of racist's tacit acquiescence of trumps lies and at the behest of their cult leader that thousands attacked the capitol building. Killing police officers injuring many others and wiping feces on the walls. Squatted down to shit in his own hands and wiped that on the walls. Ransacked offices. Were actively looking for legislators and the then vice president to do them harm. And while some have gotten arrested, thousands just walked away free.
