The President needs to step back and let Repubs create immigration bill...

That seems to be what the Republicans want? Why?

Because they need immigration reform passed so they can appeal to more Hispanics. So they can be competitive in future elections. The President is trying to keep them from getting that political leverage. That is why they said anything he proposed would be "dead on arrival" in the Congress - even if it was identical to their own. They want the bill for themselves. They don't want bi-partisanship.

They need it and the President is threatening and blocking their way. The Tea Party surely has painted them into a corner.

To get a bill done, the last thing rushpublicans can be seen is to glamming onto anything President Obama proposes or endorses. They play "poutrage" and make it look like everything's gone to hell while they quietly keep meeting and working out the details. The endgame is it appears that its a "rushpublican bill" when its mostly proposals the President approves of.

The stupid game the rushpublicans are playing here is their business money masters want a bill...they want/need cheap foreign labor. It's the teabaggers that want to bus all the "illeeguls" back to Mexico and they're not going to support any bill...so it's neutralizing them or distracting them. Gramps McQueeg is finding out that ain't gonna be so easy...
