Galt's Gulch, Chile (really! and they are sustainability yuppies!)

In today's world, it is becoming more and more difficult to find true freedom from very much the same oppressive forces Ayn Rand wrote of...which drove John Galt and others to a place where they found their freedom, success and peace of mind.

Welcome to Galt's Gulch Chile!

We hope that you can take the time to learn about the vision, passion and awareness behind Galt's Gulch Chile and come to realize that this great expat community is being created with the same vision of John Galt, penned by Ayn Rand years ago.

Galt's Gulch Chile is a serene and secluded valley, enveloped with scenic mountains, offering endless vistas, beautiful sunsets and complete privacy from the outside world...yet is located less than one hour from the thriving modern metropolis of Santiago, less than one hour from the beautiful Pacific Ocean beach communities of Chile, less than thirty minutes from countless wineries and approximately two hours from the world-class ski resorts of the Andes Mountains.

Galt's Gulch Chile is being designed to be a fully self-sustaining community, affording those who live there an abundant and unending supply of fresh drinking water from the natural springs located throughout the mountains and valleys of the community, clean and renewable energy from hydroelectric and solar power generation, organic fish from the scenic manmade lakes...and a plethora of organic fruits, vegetables and nuts, born from the fertile soil and the ideal year round climate of the region.

Galt's Gulch Chile is slated to have all of the world-class amenities found only at some of the nicest communities around the world. As future residents of Galt's Gulch Chile take ownership of their dream lots, and subsequent dream homes, the numerous amenities of the community will be incorporated, including a championship-caliber golf course, community clubhouses, tennis facilities, spa and fitness centers, hiking trails, horse facilities and trails, vineyards, underground storage facilities, downtown main street shopping, farmer's market, 24-hour guard-gated security and many others.

Galt's Gulch Chile will also have other unique amenities which would make John Galt and Ayn Rand proud, such as the professional and innovation center, where residents of Galt's Gulch can offer their services to their neighbors. Professionals in the health and wellness field, medical field, dental field and many other professional fields will have an ideal environment to contribute their knowledge in order to innovate and collaborate with others in the community, for the betterment of themselves, the community, and hopefully, the world in which we live. Numerous cutting-edge technologies are currently available to the community, which are not readily found in today's society, such as 100% natural microbial mixtures for reviving and maintaining optimal soil health, affording the community nutrition dense and flavor rich crops without the need for pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers...water filtration and ionization technologies, affording significant health benefits to the residents of the community...as well as many other highly beneficial technologies, which members of the community will have at their fingertips.

Residential lots at Galt's Gulch Chile will be offered at much more affordable price points than one would expect for a community of this caliber. In the initial phase of the project, which is over 4,200 acres, lot sizes will range from 1.25 acres up to over 10 acres, within the separate neighborhoods of the master planned community, which is projected to have well over 1,000 lots on over 10,000 acres at build out.

We do hope that you will contact us for more information and explore the possibilities with us.

My bet would be on the marketing, with some un-Galtly surprises for true believers but for which no slacker version of Homo Galtus would do without.

The man behind it appears to be Jeff Berwick. It looks like an attempt to sell some agricultural land he's bought cheaply in Chile as residential, with promises of golf, tennis etc. country club facilities. Calling it "Galt's Gulch" attracts the delusional who think they're the driving force of an economy, when in fact they're people who have got lucky, and have money to spend. The "numerous cutting-edge technologies are currently available to the community, which are not readily found in today's society" sounds like bullshit. Perhaps literally - "100% natural microbial mixtures for reviving and maintaining optimal soil health, affording the community nutrition dense and flavor rich crops without the need for pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers" could indeed be some cattle manure.

Caveat emptor, I'd say - he's looking for some gullible marks who will pay him top dollar for a shoddily built house in the middle of nowhere, with lots of facilities that are permanently "about to start building".

Hell, I think I actually used a line like that to describe cow flop once, just to illustrate a point about advertising.

Will there be regulations? Rules? Who will enforce the no-pesticide regulations?

And this Rand utopia will be "master-planned"?
