DETROIT, MI -- Two former congressional aides accused in the petition fraud scandal that led to the resignation of former U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter were sentenced to probation today, according to the state Attorney General's office.
Don Yowchuang of Farmington Hills, McCotter's former deputy district director, pleaded no contest in November to to ten counts of forgery, and six misdemeanor counts of falsely signing a nominating petition as circulator.

Yowchuang, 33, was sentenced to 3 years probation and 200 hours of community service. A probation violation would lead to a year in county jail, according to the Attorney General's office.

Paul Seewald of Livonia, who was McCotter's district director, pleaded guilty in November to nine counts of falsely signing a nominating petitino as circulator.

Seewald, 47, was sentenced to 2 years probation and 100 hours community service.

Wayne County Circuit Judge Margie Braxton dismissed conspiracy charges against both.

That'll serve them. I'd have them picking up litter on the Edsel Ford Freeway at rush hour.

On Teevee they show someone on probation going to jail for drinking....are the rules for probation the same for every type of crime?
