were out of the house. I suspect you're thinking of W.'s kids. I have no doubts he was as lousy a father as he was a President. He'd have driven me to drink if he was my father. He's going to be a lonely guy - I bet Jenna and Barbara barely acknowledge him now.

The proof will be in the pudding....Sasha and Malia will turn out smart and engaged in making this a better country.

The funny think is that, based on these photos, it looks like their older daughter, might be closer to her mom, and the younger daughter might be closer to her dad (I know, I know ... we love them all equally .. blah blah blah).

For us ... our older daughter gravitates to me (her dad), and our younger daughter gravities more to my wife, he mom (they have the same birthday).

When I look at their daughters, I see little things that are very similar to what I see in my daughters, in terms of maturity.

They are a beautiful family.

All they are missing is an 18 year old son ... which my wife and I also have ... suppose I could photoshop him into those pics.

I remember seeing photos of them rolling across the floor in a drunken stupor. I never had ill feelings for the Bush girls (only for their father) but I can't help comparing them to the President's daughters' behavior and what the difference says about the two different sets of parents.

It was always W. by himself. Clearing brush, riding his bike, playing golf, falling off his Segway, getting hammered at the Olympics - rarely Laura, never the kids. I'll bet he was as good at being a father as he was a President. In other words, not very.

... to think of a time when I was anywhere near as impressed by the family living in the White House. Even then, it wasn't as clear to me as the Obamas. Without a doubt, the Obamas leave every other First Family in the dust. To put it more directly, I'd have NO PROBLEM being in the Secret Service and putting my carcass in the line of fire to protect and defend these folks. They're better than we deserve, by far.

Yeah ... I even remember Ike and Truman quite clearly ... and Margaret at the piano. Older than dirt. (sigh)
