(4,667 posts)1) Mitch Mconnell and the Senate GOP wanted a deal.
2) Obama does not want to go over cliff.
3) Chuck Todd says doomsday has only been delayed, because sequester will still come up in March combined with the debt ceiling talks and budget talks. March could be a bad month
4) No winners. White-House has GOP helping them raise taxes. Taxes are going up on 1.4% of the population.
5) Senate vote is important. Todd says if the deal has 80 senate votes it probably passes the Senate. If it only has 55-60, it probably does not.

(4,667 posts)The Senate likely will not be able to vote on it tonight. It is logistically impossible. He says to look for a vote around 3AM or 10AM tomorrow before it moves to the house.
Chuck Todd, very concerned the bill will not pass the House without a huge majority in the Senate.
The AFLCIO and the Heritage foundation are both against the bill. That could scare away some Dems and GOPers from voting for it. Could be a factor in the house.
