Sorry but in regards to the gun industry - don't kid yourself. It's NEVER about the 2nd Amendment!

It has never EVER EVER once been about your 2nd Amendment rights that these people lobby tirelessly to our elected officials.

That amendment is nothing more than an excuse for them.

An excuse to allow them to rake in the profits BIG TIME.

The Gun industry including their lobbying arm the NRA only care about one thing - their profits. They use and abuse our 2nd Amendment so they can help lax the gun control laws everywhere because lax gun control laws means more guns sold. And these people don't care WHO buys their product as long as they are buying it and buying LOTS of it. Assault Weapons - just more types of guns they can make and sell to customers. Open Carry laws - a gold mine of new customers who want something they can carry.

Gun nuts SCREAM 'It's about my 2nd amendment rights'. They are nothing more than a bunch of sheep trained by the pigs to mimicry their calls. "Gun Laws Bad, Lots of Guns Good'. People who support the gun industry are blind to how they are being manipulated to protect the Gun Industry's profits.

I have never EVER had an issue with people owning guns. But I think commonsense laws are needed to ensure that only law abiding citizens who go thru the proper channels can buy guns. And laws need to be strict for those who abuse this privilege. I can't legally drive a car without first taking lessons and taking a test to show I understand the rules of driving. Why shouldn't gun owners do the same?

And btw, if the government is smart they would go after the Gun Industry in the same manner they did with the Tobacco Industry. They have the same justification - both industries put massive profits ahead of health concerns.

In the same way, the fun manufacturers have persuaded their flunkies that gun manufacturer profits are the essence of "liberty."

The bath house flunkies managed to keep the bath houses open for three deadly years during the early years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, dooming thousands, if not tens of thousands. Similarly, the gun manufacturer's flunkies have made any attempt to address the gun death epidemic impossible, dooming thousands.

In both cases, business interests and profit - channeled through a cynical rhetoric of civil liberties - has made it impossible for us to address a public health epidemic, with predictable results.

It's a long con. But a deadly one.
