How can this fucktard, hate weasel disguised as a 'preacher' sleep at night?
A Tennessee pastor on Sunday told his congregation that the number of mass shooting were escalating because of schools were government mind-control centers that taught junk about evolution and how to be a homo. Old Paths Baptist Church Pastor Sam Morris began speaking about last weeks school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut by warning that this sermon will not be pleasant.
We get all up in arms about 20 children being shot in a day care but we dont give one good-glory rip about the 4,000 that were removed violently from the wombs of their mothers [in abortion procedures] the same day, he explained. I believe they use children and Christmas and all that to pull on our heart strings about gun control. Thats what its all about. Morris asserted that equal rights was a sham because its equal immorality and that authorities should take the body of the suspected shooter, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, and string him up in public and set his body on fire and leave it out there to let the birds pick his bones.
Were going to see more of this, he continued. Because notice, the first thing in America we start yelling about is gun control is gun control. Have you noticed that? Gun control. No ones even thought about the fact that these shootings only happened at places where guns are banned. Have you noticed that? They have never had a mass shooting at a gun show, where you can find over a thousand loaded guns at one time.
Why do you still send your kids to the governmental schools? the pastor asked the congregation. Whats behind this shooting that we saw on Dec. 14 in Newtown, Connecticut and the other ones like it? Whats going on. Well, number one, deception I got news for you, when you kicked God out of schools, youre going to be judged for that.Morris insisted that humanism in schools taught Lanza that he was God and he can just go blow away anybody he wants. When I got in high school, man, I started learning all this kingdom, phylum stuff, all this junk about evolution, he recalled. And I want to tell you what evolution teaches heres the bottom line that youre an animal. Thats what it teaches. So, youre an animal, you can act like an animal. Amen.

(21,046 posts)What Jesus allegedly said in the bible is totally contradictory.
"I come not in peace, but with a sword" is only the beginning of his hateful, evil, vindictive sayings.
The book, called the Bible, is filled with passages equally horrible, unjust and atrocious. This is the book to be read in schools in order to make our children loving, kind and gentle! This is the book they wish to be recognized in our Constitution as the source of all authority and justice! -- Robert Green Ingersoll, The Gods, (1872)
Samples from only one of the Gospels, John:
Jesus believed the stupid and vicious story from Numbers 21. (God sent snakes to bite the people for complaining about the lack of food and water. Then God told Moses to make a brass snake to cure them from the bites.) 3:14
"God so loved the world, that he gave his His only begotten Son."
As an example to parents everywhere and to save the world (from himself), God had his own son tortured and killed. 3:16
People are damned or saved depending only on what they believe. 3:18, 36
The "wrath of God" is on all unbelievers. 3:36
Jesus believes people are crippled by God as a punishment for sin. He tells a crippled man, after healing him, to "sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." 5:14
Those who do not believe in Jesus will be cast into a fire to be burned. 15:6
Jesus says we must eat his flesh and drink his blood if we want to have eternal life. This idea was just too gross for "many of his disciples" and "walked no more with him." (They are called Protestants nowadays.) 6:53-66

There are plenty of examples in the other 3 gospels.

. . . said the guy who's faithful to a religion that pays fealty to hatred, uses fear as a weapon, decries science to believe a story, shames completely normal behavior as abnormal and is hypocritical beyond measure when it comes to practicing the teachings of Jesus.

"Never had a mass shooting at a gun show".
Yeah but you did have a 10 year old shoot himself in the head while his father and a fucking "gun safety expert" watched.
You know there is nothing I like better than a man who supposedly is a representative of the lord of peace and love, Jesus Christ, use a shooting like this to spread fear, hate and his own brand of lunacy.

(5,029 posts)I have a real problem with the direction that organized religion has gone over the last few decades. I quit attending church (Baptist) back in the 70s when the preacher started preaching hate against Catholics and Jews. I haven't been back since.
I read the Bible every night. I feel I'm fairly spiritual, even if my beliefs might not fall in line with the status quo (I'm quite open to the beliefs of other religions as well as Christianity). But people like this are the reason I dislike organized religion.

It is posted for "insurance" in some cases and because of local statute in other cases. I talked to my friend, the radical NRA member, about it. He said that it would not be "safe", but that you are safe because the gun show provides security and, in some cases, the dealers are also armed. The guns for display are definitely not loaded (or should not be loaded since mistakes have happened). Many gun enthusiasts are nervous because some attendees think nothing about pointing such guns at them as they examine the merchandise and get a feel for it (can't say I blame them). In many (most?) cases the guns are secured as well.

(17,175 posts)Even though, from what I've seen at the few gun shows I've been to, most of the attendees would probably wind up taking out each other. God help the person who'd toss a firecracker in there...

When good old Charles Whitman climbed up into that tower after 12 years of God fearing public school education, what happened with him? How about the 14 yeear old that opened up at Bishop Neumann in Pennsylvania and wounded her classmate or the teacher that shot his prinicpal at Epsicopal High School in Florida - both schools private Christian based.

(15,064 posts)even better. A religiously fanatical theocratic fascist sociopath would know how to cynically control others based on their own beliefs. This man was obviously taught religiously bigoted concepts in childhood. These concepts were instilled so deeply that he must make others fear so he can feel comfortable with himself. He has a fear of Hell which he must foist onto others otherwise he is dooming himself because his theology tells him to go out and be an Apostle or he will go to Hell. I know these types of folks. I was raised in the South where it is prevalent.
They are not all mentally ill. I'm sure some feel they have been misled by others and this charismatic preacher convinces them he has the answer. Or, they were raised bigots and racists and homophobes and he is reinforcing they're bigotry.

If you listen to what I've heard on the TV about how everyone NEEDS to send $1,000 to a certain preacher, every night, you can charge it on your credit card, God told me that you can do this; and you come here spreading your crap about evolution and how this latest shooting was because we were pulling your heartstrings about gun control and other political stuff (really?! God is really going to care about your politics?!) well, what does that have to say about your god and your religion? Answer me this man, don't side step the question.
