The GOP has to pull Gingrich off the ticket, what will they use as a tweeser and match?

The smarter people, the monied wing of the Grand Old Party can sense a Newt flavored iceberg looming in the fog. The only weakness that can approach Newt's ego, is his greed.

What will they (and they will) offer him, to try and get him to back off the ticket? What would satisfy his greed, lust, and ego? What could cause him to drop off the GOP's hunting dog?

If they really are interested in throwing this election, which they've done before (think of Papa Bush's 1992 reelection campaign), Newt would be just the guy for them. They KNOW he can't win the election, and right now I'm not sure they want to.

Throwing the election would do two things for them: give the economy four more years to recover sufficiently (because they know as well as we none of their plans for fixing the economy will actually work, and they don't want to have to try), and it will forever get rid of the tea party--who, at this juncture, is even worse for them than the possibility Obama might actually be able to fix the economy.

Romney sends him a few million.
Santorum talks Tony Perkins into co-authoring a book with him.
Ron Paul gets his pals at the Bunny Ranch to actually do some pimpin' for Paul.

it is the closest Newt will ever get to achieving political and intellectual royalty, and the only job big enough for his very ripe ego.

Love the metaphor. Although it got mixed with the iceberg.

It's easy to imagine Newt as a big fat engorged tick.

So if they want him off the ticket bad enough we could be in for a thrilling show.

Something like that would be a laugh-riot.

I think Newt needs to be humiliated in order to be persuaded to leave the stage. He will not be cowed otherwise--he has a personal, visceral desire to rip Mittens open and eat his entrails. He also believes his own publicity.

Pompous ass!

12. We don't want the GOP to pull him yet

I purposely voted in the OPEN primary here in SC yesterday.

My Dems friends and I call it political mischief; and, when possible, we always vote in repuke primaries for the GOP scum we think will be easier for the Dem to beat in the general.

So we voted for Newt!! Never thought I'd do such a thing in my life, especially after the Clinton years, but I want the Grinch to stay in the race so he and Santorum can contnue to damage Romney wth negative ads. Let them keep on fighting among themselves.

The minute, no the second, there's only one left standing -- and yes, it'll likely be Romney -- they'll all rally behind that one (as Repukes do best) and focus their despicably loathing ads on Obama. So dragging out the primary battle by keeping Newt and Sick Santorum in is to our advantage!
