Obama's FCC and Murdoch

Free Press is urging everybody to contact their Representatives, Senators, the White House and the FCC members to urge the Commission to refrain from relaxing the cross-ownership restrictions.

The trillion-dollar-question is: Why is Obama's FCC making so nicey-nice with Rupert Murdoch?

I remember Obama having meetings with Rupert back in 2008, during the primaries. With Obama, Murdoch Defies His Image. There was something tantalizingly mysterious, secretive and special about their relationship. Everyone was speculating.

Then, in the 2012 cycle, we see, "Donations By Media Companies Tilt Heavily To Obama."

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, for example, has contributed $58,825 to Mr. Obama’s campaign, compared with $2,750 to Mr. Romney.

Mystery solved.

Link to the email addresses of the 5 FCC appointees who will decide this matter:

http://www.fcc.gov/contact-us

The phone number for the FCC is at that link as well.

Here's a Bill Moyers blog entry about what exactly is happening.
