Joe's options might be dwindling, but he has one last option - critique my idea

Yes, I can see the writing on the wall today and I feel helpless to do anything to change it.

So whats next?

Well Joe has one last option to go down in history as a hero who sacrificed himself to save humanity from the disaster that awaits. And yes, Trump is not gonna just be a disaster for the USA its also for the rest of the world. Now I know what everyone is thinking that it would be impossible for a strong candidate to emerge in the subsequent chaos. But there is an option and its all within Joes power.

What could he do?

First, delegate the POTUS nomination to Kamala Harris, thats simple.

Then also nominate Michelle Obama as VP.

Imagine how powerful this step would be. At the same time as healing internal divisions he creates one of the most popular tickets in Democratic history - Harris / Obama 2024!

The only handwriting spelling doom for Biden will be the inability of Democratic leadership to get control of what the media has taken out of their hands and ran with. Cooler heads need to prevail here.

If we can stop the caterwauling and the panic, and take a look at reality, there is a strong candidate in the middle of this chaos who has beaten Trump and can do it again and his name is President Joe Biden.

Guaranteed, if the energy of Democrats is focused on wailing over one debate performance that had no bearing on anything at all except, perhaps, to expose more Trump lies, then we will lose, not because we don't have a strong candidate, but because we don't have the ability to gain votes from those outside the party who will be with us if we get it together.

Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee. I'll be in the gallery in Chicago helping cheer him on. He will win in November if we stop this mess and get on with business. We have the ability to send him back with a Congressional blue wave. We have to do some things right and this isn't one of them. Stop listening to the media.

Ballot access litigation is very strange. It is not easy to get onto the ballot for third parties and there are traps even for the two main parties. The GOP and the Heritage Foundation are hoping that President Biden is removed from the ticket so that they can try to keep President Biden's replacement off the ballot in swing states.

https://www.mediaite.com/biden/top-conservative-think-tank-vows-to-make-it-extraordinarily-difficult-for-dems-to-replace-biden-by-filing-swing-state-lawsuits/

Heritage Foundation has vowed to do everything possible to keep Democrats from replacing President Joe Biden as the party’s presidential nominee.

Approximately four months ago, the conservative organization began researching laws in states for replacing nominee in key swing states, according to a report from NOTUS. Staffers for Heritage’s Oversight Project compiled the report back in April and released it ahead of the debate.

“If the Biden family decides that President Biden will not run for re-election, the mechanisms for replacing him on ballots vary by state,” reads the memo. “There is the potential for pre-election litigation in some states that would make the process difficult and perhaps unsuccessful.”

The organization’s Oversight Project Executive Director Mike Howell said, in a statement to NOTUS, they would make the process for replacing Biden “extraordinarily difficult.”

“We’ve zeroed in on a few states that we think are the best case,” Howell told the news outlet without naming the specific states. The memo, however, identifies Nevada, Washington, and Georgia as the most likely states to use litigation to stop a new Democratic nominee from replacing Biden on the ballot......

The problem that any potential replacement for Joe Biden would likely run into is that in many states, including in several key states, the deadline for getting on the ballot has already passed,” said Zack Smith, a senior legal fellow at Heritage, in a statement to NOTUS. “Or in many states, the process for replacing a candidate currently on the ballot just isn’t clearly defined because it happens so rarely.”

What’s conveniently missing from every elected official’s statement calling for Biden to dropout.

🚨🚨🚨Republicans plan to sue in order to keep the Dem alternative off of the ballot in every state that matters in this election — battleground states.

What’s the path to victory then?

And even then it would be a Hail Mary. If Joe withdraws on his own before the official nomination the whole thing is moot, the Democratic Party has automatic access to ballots in all 50 states and the deadline to submit our official candidates isn’t until after the convention. Ohio changed their law so their previous August 5 deadline is no longer valid. The party has not yet put forth their official candidates.

The Heritage Foundation’s cynical argument is that Biden was the winner of the primaries and thus has the right to be on the ballot if he is in the race. If he steps aside they can’t make that argument. And if their argument had any merit we could lobby to have Trump/Vance stricken from ballots because Trump and the Repubs had not yet picked a running mate by those mythical deadlines.
