elected. Steinglass just went there. Really breaking it down for the jury so that they can see the election interference component. I am glad he went there, because this is the bottom line and what raises it to a felony.
I also like his line about if you want to know what's going on in the gutter, you have to talk to the rats. Brilliant.

(16,082 posts)..... incoherently more than usual because the closing arguments trashed him out hard.
His fear of a guilty verdict must be triggering his incontinence really bad. Every step he takes he probably deposits a little surprise in his adult diapers. Unable to hold it back until he locates a restroom. Just imagine the stench being within his proximity.
But 40% of America thinks this man is of presidential timber ? Can you believe it ?

(18,372 posts)He always cheats, and he assumes everyone else cheats. To him, it's not even in question; that's just the way things are done.
And since (he believes) everyone else is always cheating, there's no reason for him not to cheat, too!

(1,512 posts)It seems like it would make it almost impossible to have any sort of normal relationships or intimacy.
And what about Christmas??!
ShazzieB
(18,372 posts)It's my understanding that all his relationships are purely transactional, and that his extended family is like that as well. He doesn't believe in doing something for another person unless he can see some benefit for himself. At least that's what I've read, in multiple sources.
It does sound like a very cold and shallow way to live.
Irish_Dem
(55,825 posts)Relationships are entirely transactional.
There are no emotions, no love.
Some sort of attachment perhaps.
But it is not healthy love.
We can see that Trump's happiness comes from getting attention and committing crimes.
His drug use and sexual promiscuity.
His ability to lie, cheat, steal, bilk and fool others.
Irish_Dem
(55,825 posts)He loves putting one over on others. Like with his sexual assaults.
And all the tax cheating. All of his other crimes.
It gives him a good feeling to bilk others. Hurt them.
Make money off of them.
Trump sees those who follow the laws and rules as suckers and losers.
He is so angry when he gets called out or caught. People just don't
seem to appreciate his criminal genius. What a great "businessman" he is.
This is what he thinks.

(1,877 posts)of the Democratic party today, in those days following FDR, he tried to be in the middle between Republicans and Democrats. Certainly movement on social issues has moved both the Democratic party and the 20% of Republicans who are corporate Republicans to the left, but on the economic issues our oiligarchs care about the Democratic and Republican parties have moved to the right of Eisenhower's "middle way".
"In Eisenhower Republicanism: Pursuing the Middle Way, Steven Wagner argued that the key to understanding how Eisenhower distinguished his policies from those of liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans was his philosophy of the 'middle way'."

(3,102 posts)He got Wikileaks (in collusion with Russia) to release emails stolen from the Clinton campaign, the very afternoon of the day that the Access Hollywood tape of Trump's vulgar "grab them by the pussy" remarks hit the news?
I have no doubt that the pressure on James Comey to release the statement about the 30,000 "additional" emails mere days before the campaign was orchestrated by Rudy Giuliani through his ties with the SDNY too.

Hammering the cheating on the American voter is the real crime. And if he gets away with it, the adage "Cheaters never prosper" needs some serious redefining.

(113,032 posts)but I still say he could have skipped the whole thing, let her blab and let Pecker publish the article. The few who read it and believed it would have shrugged it off as news 10 years earlier, but little point now.
Republicans rationalize ordinary faithlessness as "Oh, that was 10 years ago/last month/an hour ago! Jesus has shown him'/her the error of his/her ways now," as they continue to vote GOP because they're SUCH good Christians.
I doubt the story would have cost him a single vote.
However, his actions, in concert with Daniels, Pecker, and Cohen, were all aimed at making sure he didn't lose a single vote. And that's what should put him under house arrest for a long time,

Every Democrat running for office will be tying every Republican/MAGAt running to that as well.
Makes me wonder when a conviction comes down, how exciting will the RNC be knowing that they are nominating a CRIMINAL? "GIVE US BARABAS!" the Convention delegates will say. Things did not work out so well for Barabas in the end.
